Widgets

In this section of the User Guide we will discuss the available widgets and widget areas in the theme.

Widgets are easy to manage and can be incredibly useful to have on your site.

For Caledon, we have developed custom widgets and widget areas in order to provide you with even more functionality. You also have the option of creating your own custom sidebars (custom widget areas).

Widgets

  • Caledon Blog List - Use this widget to display a list of your blog posts in a widget area (for example in a sidebar).
  • Caledon Button Widget - Use this widget to easily add a button to a widget area.
  • Caledon Contact Form 7 - Use this widget to add contact forms to your widget areas.
  • Caledon Custom Typography - Use this widget to add some stylized text to a widget area.
  • Caledon Icon Widget - Use this widget to easily add icons to widget areas.
  • Caledon Image Gallery - Use this widget to easily add an image gallery to a widget area.
  • Caledon Instagram Widget - You can use this widget to display your Instagram feed.
  • Caledon Search Opener - Use this widget to place the search icon in a desired widget area.
  • Caledon Search Post Type - Use this widget to create a search form that searches through a specific post type.
  • Caledon Separator Widget - Use this widget to easily add a separator to a widget area.
  • Caledon Recent Posts - Select recent posts that you would like to display.
  • Caledon Off-Canvas Sidebar Opener - Use this widget to place the icon that opens the side area in a desired widget area.
  • Caledon Social Icon Widget - Use this widget to easily add social icons to a widget area.
  • Caledon Sticky Sidebar Widget - Use this widget to make the sidebar sticky. Drag it into the sidebar above the widget which you want to be the first element in the sticky sidebar.
  • Caledon WooCommerce Dropdown Cart - You can use this widget to display a cart icon in a desired widget area which, when hovered over, will show a dropdown with a listing of the items in your cart.

Warning

Please note that you need to have the Woocommerce plugin installed in order for the Caledon WooCommerce Dropdown Cart widget to appear in the widget selection.

Widget Area

  • Sidebar - This is the WordPress default sidebar widget area for blog posts.
  • Footer Top Column 1, 2, 3 & 4 – You can use these widget areas to add widgets to the Footer Top columns.
  • Footer Bottom Column 1, 2 & 3 – You can use these widget areas to add widgets to the Footer Bottom columns.
  • Fullscreen Menu Bottom - You can use this widget area to add widgets below the fullscreen menu navigation.
  • Top Bar Left Column - You can use this widget area to add widgets to the left side of the top bar.
  • Top Bar Right Column - You can use this widget area to add widgets to the right side of the top bar.
  • Header Widget Logo Area - Use this widget area to add widgets to the header logo area.
  • Header Widget Menu Area - Use this widget area to add widgets to the header menu area.
  • Mobile Header Widget Area - You can use this widget area to add widgets to the mobile header.
  • Off Canvas Sidebar - You can use this widget area to add widgets to your off-canvas sidebar.
